November 9 @ 2:00 pm - November 13 @ 11:00 am
Let me introduce you to our LanzaBlues Retreat…
A holiday with added dance – rather than a dance holiday.
A low cost, high fun holiday that will have lots of opportunities built in for dancing.
Lanzarote is one of my favourite places in the world – I’m really looking forward to sharing it with you.
So here’s the plan.
We’ll be staying in self-contained, well-equipped apartments in Puerto Del Carmen, Lanzarote on a self-catering basis.
This gives you the chance to shape the holiday into something that suits you.
If you want to keep costs down, there are lots of very reasonably priced supermarkets nearby that bake fresh bread each day and have a good range of foods to choose from. Each apartment has it’s own fridge, microwave, hob etc and all the utensils you will need to cook for yourselves. Maybe just breakfast, maybe all your meals – it’s up to you.
If eating out is your preference (and it certainly is mine!) then there is an enormous number of places, and cuisines to choose from on The Strip, which is less than 10 minutes walk from the apartment. And the added bonus of this is that we’ll be putting into the local economy this way.
The complex we’ll be staying on has it’s own pool, views of the volcanic mountains, and is 10 minutes stroll from the beach. It also has the added bonus of having a lovely big room for us to dance/take classes in, if we want to. Oh, and there’s also a gym. Apparently.
Now to the REALLY exciting part!
This is very much a holiday, and we want you to enjoy it as such. We have created an itinerary of suggested options/activities – which you can choose to take part in, or not. Whatever suits.
Wanna spend the day by the pool – great idea!
Wanna stroll on the beach and enjoy a beer or a jug of sangria when it all gets too warm – perfect!
Wanna join us in a stroll over the cliff tops to Puerto Calero for coffee and ice-cream – fantastic!
Wanna take a coach tour and check out all of the weird and wonderful delights that Lanzarote has to offer – we can arrange that!
Wanna hire a car and take yourself out on a tour of the island that Cesar Manrique helped to shape into something incredibly special and unique – good plan!
Wanna join us at a local bar and check out the music, maybe get in a little afternoon dancing on the terrace – woop woop!
Wanna trek over the volcanoes, along the cliff top path, down to the tiniest little fishing village to discover the most incredible little family run fish restaurant, and have fresh fish cooked for you as you sit on the beach front – hell yeah!!
We’ll arrange a morning meet-up, make our plans, and enjoy each fabulous day.
And then there’s the evenings!
We’ll be eating in different restaurants each night – you’ll be very welcome to join us. Or meet up with us after.
And then it’s party time!
We’ll be heading to some of the local bars to enjoy some fantastic live music and really get into the party spirit! We’ll sing (badly in my case), we’ll dance if the fancy takes us and we may partake in a glass or two of something cold and delicious…
Until about midnight-ish
Cos that’s when we do a Modern Blues takeover in a local bar!
We have arranged to takeover and play all of the music that you know and love – and we have the option to dance til 4am each morning if you have the stamina!
There is plenty of space to dance…
The bar is open all night…
And home is just a walk or a taxi ride away. (A taxi rank is right outside and taxi prices are very reasonable)
Have I mentioned that this bar has one of the very best sound systems on the Island?
We are more than a little excited about it all, that’s for sure!!
We think it’s going to be something very special…
If you’re coming as a solo traveller – this is a great way to keep costs down, and feel part of a friendly, welcoming, like-minded group.
If you’re coming as a couple, looking to spend some time together but really fancy meeting up for some party-time in the evenings – wonderful!
If you’re a bunch of mates who like to go on adventures together – this will really work for you!
Cost: Approx £190 per person + flights (based on 2 people sharing)
