New Year – New Start. And a great time to try something new!
We’re running a four week New-2-Blues course for all those interested in an introduction to Modern Blues dancing – or for those who would like a refresher in the basics.
The course is designed to ease the transition from Modern Jive into Blues. Bite-size, easy-to-handle chunks delivered in a safe, friendly and encouraging environment. Aimed at anyone who would like to give Blues a try, but may not be ready to dive headlong into a Blues room yet.
Week by week we will give you a good, solid foundation in aspects of Blues such as technique, musicality, styling and how to bring what you already have into the Blues room… We’ll show you that Blues is not invasive, or intimidating. It is a music-led, lead & follow dance, that is led from frame and has a strong emphasis on respecting personal space and boundaries.
This 4-week course will cost £35 (total), payable on Sunday 16th February 2020.
The course is followed each week by our regular Buckden Blues class night – If you’d like to stay on for the rest of the evening (class and freestyle) then you can do that for an additional £5. We’d love you to join us for even more bluesiness!
Dates as follows:
Sunday 16th February 2020
Sunday 23rd February 2020
Sunday 1st March 2020
(one week break as we are at our Yorkshire Blues Retreat that weekend)
Sunday 15th March 2020
Please spread the word and invite any of your dance friends who might be interested…
